Our Story
We’re building the kind of church we were missing.
Somewhere along the way, the Western church became obsessed with accumulating knowledge—but not necessarily with living like Jesus. We found ourselves going to all the studies, listening to sermons, taking notes… and still wondering: “Isn’t there something more than this?”
That question led us here.
🌱 A Simple Start
Frontier Church Longmont began in 2022 with a small gathering of friends.
We opened Scripture, prayed, and shared what we were learning.
What we discovered was powerful:
People grow when they can ask questions, reflect honestly, and share their faith in a safe, Spirit-filled space.
When we shared meals, we shared more than food—we shared life.
So as we grew, we added food to our gatherings each week, knowing that something sacred happens around the table.
Our first gathering was simple. Pastor Chris shared his heart and cast vision. But it was the community—the stories, the discussion, the sense of shared ownership—that reshaped that vision into something far more beautiful.
🧱 Our Foundation
We believe the modern church has too often created two categories of people: the “gifted professionals” and the “quiet observers.”
But in God’s kingdom, there are no benchwarmers.
Every believer is called. Every believer is gifted. Every believer is needed.
Discipleship and kingdom work are not optional extras after salvation—they’re the shared journey of all who follow Jesus.
We’re not trying to go back to tradition or invent something trendy.
We’re trying to center our lives on Jesus—and live what we learn.
🌎 Who We’re For
Frontier is for people who’ve said:
“I believe in Jesus… but I’ve been burned by church.”
“I’ve gone to all the Bible studies, but I still feel stuck.”
“I want something real, something deeper, something that matters.”
We’re for the skeptical, the disillusioned, the spiritually hungry.
We’re for those who’ve been told they need to become a church clone to belong.
We’re for those who still believe Jesus offers something more.
💬 Who We’re Becoming
We are now a multigenerational gathering, with kids to retirees worshiping side-by-side every week.
We are a family on mission—people who want to be known, who want to listen, and who want to love Longmont well.
We’re embracing the tapestry of gifts, backgrounds, and passions God has woven into this community.
We want to help people become exactly who God created them to be and do the kingdom work that only they can do.
We’re becoming a church in motion—not an audience, but a people.
🌄 Where We’re Going
Our dream is big—God-sized, even.
We long to see a movement of new churches up and down the Front Range: relational, mission-minded, discussion-driven communities that live out the way of Jesus.
We know we can’t do that alone. And that’s the point.
🤝 We Didn’t Get Here Alone
We are standing on the shoulders of faithful mentors, pastors, and friends who saw something in us before we did:
Andrew Greenidge, who pastored Chris as a teen
Steve & Win Houwen, who supported our team and helped us find our first space
Pastor George Lawson, who floated the idea of church planting
Pastor Rod Henry, who poured into Pastor Miriam
Pastor Steve Osborn, who walked alongside Chris through the planting process
Pastor Matt Shinn, who welcomed us into First Baptist with open arms
Pastor Shay Rankhorn, who helped equip Chris for this journey
And countless others who’ve discipled, encouraged, and invested in the people of our church. Because the Christian faith has always been about people pouring into people.
🙋 So… Why Come?
If you’re looking for something easy or polished, we might not be for you.
But if you’re looking for something real—something bold, something lived—we’d love to meet you.
We’re all about doing, not just knowing.
And we’re not here to build our own little empire—we’re here to build the Kingdom.
Even if Frontier Church Longmont isn’t your place, we’d be honored to help you find where Jesus is calling you. Because it’s not about us. It’s about Him.
🧭 Let’s rethink church together.
Come see what’s happening. Or come help shape what’s next.
